Tenia here and hope all is well! I have a very fun DIY butterfly journal project today using Richard Garay goodness……CHECK IT!!
Bible journaling is a powerful way to blend in your personality and creativity while connecting with God’s Word. It provides an escape from daily stressors and creates a meditative-like focus, allowing you to interpret the message and process the context of your chosen section, verse, or scripture. If you have ever been curious about taking up bible journaling, but were hesitant or unsure you could produce the same colorful masterpieces you see decorating the Pinterest walls—the great news is, you don’t need to be an expert artist at all! In fact, there are many other bible journaling techniques for you to try that will still get those creative juices flowing as you bring the scripture to life! (more…)
For this Spring season, the Garay’s have decorated their formal dining table with a gorgeous butterfly garden display. A collection of soft pastels with splashes of vibrant color create a magical centerpiece for the family to enjoy on Easter Sunday.
Are you all prepped and ready for the Easter bunny to hop on over this weekend!?
Over at the Garay house, Spring is in the air as Richard and his family look forward to an egg-cellent weekend filled with loved ones, fun activities and (of course) candy galore! Who knows– Richard might even bake his famous, homemade carrot cake for all his favorite peeps… I’ve heard it’s just to dye for! But let’s not put all our eggs in one basket yet… we still have a few more days before things get crackin’ over at the Garay’s.
For now, we’ve decided to introduce you to a few furry members of the Garay family in celebration of April 11th being National Pet Day!
Siblings are just the best… now. And while it probably felt like some sort of undeserved punishment growing up—as an adult it’s easy to see just how lucky we are to have them in our lives. This year, National Siblings Day is on Monday, April 10th– so what better time to send some sisterly (or brotherly) love to your childhood partner-in-crime than now?! Create a handmade card from the heart and send it out via snail mail for a nice surprise from their favorite member of the family (and I don’t mean the dog).
Here are a few ways you can say ‘hey’ on sibling’s day
Gold can give any project that added touch of both style and charm. Whether it is used as a foil, splash, glitter, or paper—this metallic metal brings any work of art to life by providing that extra little sparkle or shine. If you’re unsure how to incorporate this precious metal into your paper craft designs– here are 5 ways gold can make your next project POP!
1st Technique–Take watercolor paper and create a stencil-like impression by using the die as a “mask,” then spray gold splash directly on the die to create that outline look (pictured in the lower left-hand side of the paper). Second Technique–Spray gold splash on to a clear block, dab die onto the splash, then stamp directly on the watercolor paper (pictured in the right-hand side of the paper). Card uses Full Bloom die set from RG Silver & Gold collection.
Spring is finally here–
Let’s put away those heavy jackets, pull out the pastels, open up some windows, and of course do a little Spring cleaning! As we all know– a clean home is a happy home—however, the same could be said for your crafting space. Luckily, the ladies of Richard’s Make Amazing Design Team have offered to share some of their best organizing tips and tricks to help keep your craft room neat and tidy all year long!
Alright, time to confess—how many of you out there have a secret bag or drawer where you store a lovely collection of paper scraps? Don’t be shy now–we’re all friends here. And, I think I can speak for most of us, crafters, when I say—You just never know when you’re going to need them, right? But no matter how good our intentions might be—these piles only seem to grow higher and higher with each completed project.
The good news is, you don’t have to necessarily stop saving those scraps of paper—just start working them into your next projects more often. Challenge yourself to branch out a little, you’d be surprised at what you can come up with!
Layer on the different sizes and patterns to make an eye-catching combination of texture and color. The card inspiration below is a great example of how scraps can create that added dimension. The vibrant colors and various patterns really bring this card to life–creating a unique masterpiece!
