Mou here today from My Life In Collage Blog with a video tutorial to show you how to create a little mixed media butterfly house.

Start by painting the medium piece from the House to Home Trio set with River Stone Acrylic Paint. Once the first layer of paint dries, color it with Pineapple Smoothie Acrylic Paint. Add some lighter touches with Butter Cream Acrylic Paint.
Next, cut a piece of the widest Vintage Lace long enough to wrap around the body of the house.
Attach the Lace with Journey Glaze.
When the glaze dries, brush on some Cool Pool Acrylic Paint to accentuate the texture of the lace.
While the paint dries, stamp the xoxo heart from Be Mine stamp set on Whip Cream cardstock using Rock Candy True Color Fusion Ink.
Cut the heart out with scissors. Draw a frame around the xoxo.
Draw a scallop border with pencil on Make Amazing Happen printed paper. Cut it with scissors. Ink the edges and attach at the base of the house with Journey Glaze.
Rub some Rock Candy True Color Fusion Ink along the edges.
Attach the heart in the center of the space above the lace.
Splatter some Silver Silk over the whole house.
Draw some simple butterfly wings and cut out of Make Amazing Printed papers. Ink the edges.
Attach the vintage pin at the center of the house using Journey Glaze. Be sure to tuck the pin’s sharp end into the lace. Attach the wings next to the pin and the heart overlapping them all.
Splatter some Gold Silk all over the house.
Brighten up the house a bit with some more Pineapple Smoothie acrylic paint to finish.
Here are a few close-ups of my little house.
I hope you enjoyed today’s tutorial and are going to create some fun little houses of your own with these products!
